Chameleon Stargazing is a budget, family friendly stargazing tour option in Lake Tekapo. They customise each tour to meet the individual interests of the participants. Experienced local astronomy guides operate at their stargazing site - you'll be able to see the stars up close using their 9.25 inch telescope. Church of the Good Shepherd
The Church of the Good Shepherd is situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo amongst the natural beauty of the lake and the mountains. The Church of the Good Shepherd was built to the glory of God as a memorial to the pioneers of the Mackenzie Country. The famous sheep dog statue on the lake’s edge is in memory of the hardy mustering dogs “without the help of which the grazing of this mountainous country would be impossible.”

The Cairns Golf Course
Mt John Historic Homestead, State Highway 8, Lake Tekapo. The 9 hole Cairns Golf Course originates at the stables – Le Stables – of the historic Mount John Station. A small shop operates from Le Stables and in addition to providing club hire to those who travel light, the shop also displays and sells a stunning range of clothing, textiles and products, many of which are from the sheep and alpaca on the neighbouring Balmoral Station.Green fees:$20 9 holes $30 18 holes.
