All the amenities at a budget price
Built to blend in with the environment, our backpacker hostel, Lakes Edge Lodge, can comfortably sleep 64 people in dorm rooms, while also offering a variety of stand-alone private accommodation outside. Including twin and double units plus ensuite units. The Lodge is situated on the shore overlooking beautiful Lake Tekapo and the mountains beyond.
You can book online a free pick up from the 12.05pm Intercity bus.
The village is just one minute's drive away, or ten minutes on foot. There you will find a supermarket, general store and other shops, along with a fantastic pizzeria and various restaurants. Tekapo Village also has a wealth of tourist operators who can assist you with your New Zealand adventure.
Check-in for the Lakes Edge Lodge is at the Holiday Park reception. You'll see it on the left as you come down the hill from the village.
The backpackers may not be suitable for infants and young children. Please contact reception directly if travelling with children.

Lounge & Dining Room
Facing the lake, the Lakefront Lodge Backpackers features a huge common room with plenty of seating and a wood-burner fire – super cosy on cold nights.
BBQ Facilities & Picnic Area
Lodge guests have free use of our BBQs and picnic area. Situated in a courtyard facing the shore, with great views of the lake and mountains, this is a great place to cook and eat outside in the fresh air.
Kitchen
Our shared kitchen offers cooking ranges, microwave, fridge, chairs and tables, instant hot water and toasters. It's also fully equipped with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Bathrooms
Shared bathroom facilities consist of separate men's and women's areas with toilets, showers and wash basins. There's also a wheelchair-accessible toilet and shower.
Laundry
A communal laundry has two card operated washing machines ($6 per load) both of which dispense washing liquid free of charge and a card operated dryer ($5 per load for 30 minutes, $7.50 for 45 minutes)

Pets
Pets welcome on our dog friendly sites. We have limited spaces so please book in advance. No dogs in accommodation (they can't stay in the car either). No Dogs from 15 December - 15 January.

“Amazing scenery, friendly helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, provided with everything to be comfortable during our stay - clean amenities, barbecues, so close to Tekapo Springs and some lovely walks around the area. We had an absolutely incredible stay for such a reasonable cost. We shifted our holiday and stayed an extra night. if we weren’t on a tight time limit we would’ve stayed even longer. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay in this park in Lake Tekapo again, when next visiting from Australia.”
